I have been emailing Pastor Ray in India.It is amazing the ministry that the Lord has he and about 350 on his ministry team doing. They have 150 small churches with about 50 people in each church meeting in thatched roof buildings. They also have 10 orphanages with many Children.

This is a true story about a real person:

There was a man named Thomas who decided from a young age that he wanted to create something that would be able to store electricity. Time after time after time, actually around 50,000 times he failed. However he continued to try to achieve his dream and eventually he succeeded. He ended up inventing the first ever battery.

Someone asked him “Don’t you get discouraged when you have to try 50,000 experiments before you get any results?” Thomas quickly replied “Results? Why, I’ve got lots of results. I now know 50,000 things won’t work”

Thomas didn’t get discouraged when what he wanted didn’t come to him instantly. This is a reason why Thomas Edison is credited with almost 1,300 inventions. Just as Thomas Edison didn’t expect immediate results neither should we from God. Too often we feel that God has abandoned us and become discouraged just because He doesn’t click His fingers and grant us immediately what we want. In fact at times God may never grant us what we want but this is because, although it doesn’t seem like it at the time, it is the best thing for us. God never abandons us and will in His own time decide what is best for us.

One of my favourite verses is Deuteronomy 31: 6 where it says:

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you”

Encouraging words. Have patience and do not feel that God has abandoned you because He never does. Do not be discouraged
